2025 Golden State Wushu Tournament

2025 Golden State International Wushu Championships

This is probably the most highly regarded competition in NA. Will take place in Santa Clara, CA on May 24-25 (Memorial Day Weekend). Registration begins in January has opened. There are beginner categories available for our kids.

UPDATES:

-Register under our team: Los Angeles Wushu Club

**** for compulsory form, please register your child into category 105 - Optional Changquan (No-Nandu)** 自选长拳(无难度)****

**** for staff form, please register your child into category 306 - Other Beginning Gunshu (其它初级棍术)****

ADDITIONAL UPDATE:

We think it’s worth giving a shot to compete with their staff form as well.

If you’ve already paid and registered for compulsory,

You can go to the registration page (w.gowushu.com/participants) and go into the athlete/registration to add category 306 - Other Beginning Gunshu (其它初级棍术).

Registration is $70, each additional event is $30.

So two events would total $130. (There is an additional bank transaction fee)

You can still add the category even if you’ve already paid for compulsory and comp registration.

Check the addtional event category (306) hit the big red button at the top to confirm and settle up.

Please consider adding this category. Since competition is not considered close to home, we feel it’s worth it to make the most out of the event/weekend.

-Venue Hotels are booked. We have Families staying at Marriott Santa Clara and Hilton Santa Clara

    • Doors to open 8a for warmup/stretch/prep

Minimum requirement for Green Belt level is to be down in all 3 splits for 30 seconds. However this alone does not guarantee passing into green belt.

UPDATE 2: Due to availability conflicts, we have finalized our belt testing date for May 18, 2025 9a-12p

Our third annual belt testing event taking place in April 2025. We will be testing for Green belt, the first level in the intermediate skill category. One of the basic requirements to pass include, at minimum, executing full splits (front and straddle). Exact Date TBD. Possibility for May date

  • Meet at Garvey Ranch Park at 10am for rehearsal

    • We will meet between the playground and basketball courts

    • Rehearsal in regular attire, change into silks at the park after rehearsal.

    • Remember to bring sash, shoes, weapons if performing with them

  • Head to Barnes Park for performance by 11:15

We had an amazing time with kids and parents at our holiday party this year! We ate lots of food and had a cookie exchange as well as gift exchange! Thank you to the parents who helped to organize the event, thankyou to the parents who brought amazing food, and a huge ‘THANK YOU’ to the Nagami family for hosting us this year!
